RJ Prateek quits Fever's Delhi station, joins Network 18

MUMBAI: RJ Prateek, the host of countdown show Fever Hot 20 Countdown on Delhi's Fever FM has quit the radio station.

Prateek's last show on air for Fever was his 8 pm to 12am midnight slot on 19 July. Talking about his association with Fever, Prateek says, "It was two years ago that I joined Fever FM and it's been fantastic. I got to learn an absolutely new format of radio, which was very new for the Indian radio industry."

Anchoring shows on television is what Prateek is set to do; he will be anchoring a show on one of the channels of Network 18. "Learning should never halt, is the policy I follow and always try to learn as many new things as possible. Radio was quite a fun ride but not as easy as many people perceive it to be. After six years of radio, I guess the craving to learn something new is quite strong!"Prateek started his career in 2002 as DJ Sam on Radio Mirchi, Indore. In October 2006, Prateek shifted to Fever 104 FM (New Delhi). Commenting on his evolution as a RJ, Prateek says, "I have had the opportunity to test my versatility as an RJ. I changed styles, reinvented myself as and figured out the best manner to present shows and to think "out of the box"."

Prateek had started hosting the Evening Drive Time Show 'Fever Hot 20 Countdown' till 8th Feb 2008. He then shifted to host the 11am to 2pm (mid-morning) slot.

"Contrary to popular belief, RJing is not just about hosting a show in the studios. A lot goes behind putting a show together. I personally feel a radio presenter needs to be quite versatile and self-dependent, when it comes to the show."
