Shraddha exits on ghazal nite

Mumbai September 21: With Jagjit Singh as guest on L`iL Champs, the theme had to be ghazals. Shaan talks about the importance of ghazals in Indian music. Jagjit Singh enters with the song "Mera geet amar kar do" and the final 6 kids join him.

It is the elimination episode and envelopes which contain the results are exchanged among the participants, adding to the tension.

Pawni sang "Woh kagaz ki kashti" but the judges and Jagjit Singh were convinced that ghazals were not her forte. She sounded nervous and Alka Yagnik recommended that she must practice this genre as only one who can sing all genres will be a good singer. Diwakar sang "Tumko dekha toh ye khayal aaya" and had Jagjit Singh comment that he sang with good expressions.

Abhrokanti sang "Ahista Ahista" with a classical twist, to which Jagjit Singh said all harkaten should not be more than the original song.

And, Abhijeet said, "You did "Abhrokantisation" of the ghazal. Though you sang well, try not to be a Khan saab."

Sameer sang "Hoshwalon ko khabar kya" but failed to impress Jagjit Singh. "You must take rest and eat well," said the ghazal maestro. Abhijeet, Alka and Bappi also expressed disappointment on his singing. Sameer promises the judges that he will perform much better the next time.

Shraddha sang "Koi ye kaise bataye" and though she sang well, Jagjit asked her to "lose weight for better breath control".

Sanchita sang "Dard se mera daman bhar do" well. Jagjit said, "Better then the original, and at some points, you were really outstanding. But concentrate on sur and do riyaaz with the tanpoora."

Then it was time for the results. Shraddha gets 1,66,196 votes, Sanchita gets 4,07,192, votes, Diwakar gets 3,35,213 votes, Sameer gets 4,51,290 votes, Abhrokanti gets 3,14,947 and Pawni gets 3,15,200 votes.

Shraddha gets least votes and thus eliminated and all kids sing "Ae zindagi gale laga le" for Shraddha
