Shreya Ghoshal and Vishal-Shekhar audition aspirants for Indian Idol Junior

NEW DELHI: Indian Idol, the singing reality show that has presented some of the finest singing talent in the country, is now coming in a new avatar. Indian Idol Junior with a search for the new young voice will enthrall millions of viewers across India.

Over a thousand persons took part in an audition held in Noida Expo Centre in the presence of the three judges - Shreya Ghoshal, Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani – and conducted by actor Mandira Bedi.

The show will hunt the most versatile child singer in the age-group of 5 to 15 years. The auditions for the show have already begun and aims to cover more than 30 cities across the country.

"I love kids I look forward to working with kids because its easier to talk to them. You don't have to play with them they are the smartest when you say something to them they understand it instantly," said Ghoshal, who herself started her singing career from a reality show.

"We are fundamentally looking for talent, melody, technique and soul. The two most important things are soul and perfect notes. We are not focusing on presentable factor or star-material because if they have the talent they can do the rest," said Vishal Dadlani.

Indian Idol Junior is produced by the format owners Fremantle Media and once again the show is all set to enthrall the viewers across the country with new talent.

This year Indian Idol Junior will cover the entire nation to scout for the best singing talent and the auditions will be held in Chandigarh on 6 April and in Mumbai on 13 and 14 April.
