Sri Sankara TV launches devotional music talent show
MUMBAI: Bangalore-based spiritual, multi-lingual, satellite television channel Sri Sankara TV is gearing up to launch a new talent hunt show in search of the best bhajan group in south India.
The show - Bhajan Samraat - will premiere on 1 December and will be aired every Thursday-Friday at 7 pm."Bhajan Samraat is a big initiative and we take pride in introducing the concept of reality into the devotional space. We aim to give opportunities to the prodigies to showcase their talent," the channel said.
The show will have a variety of rounds based on different themes and the best team will bag the title of 'Bhajan Samraat' and a cash prize of Rs 1 million The channel has finished the auditions, which took place in Chennai, Tanjore, Coimbatore, Bangalore and Hubli.
"The creation of this concept is to spiritually bind people with the emotion of divine purity. Emotion toward divinity is boundless. Expressions of these emotions are in varied form. One of the soulful languages of these emotions to connect almighty is bhajan. A vibrant ecstasy will be brought to our viewers through this programme.
"The theme of Bhajan Samraat is conceptualised to make a distinctive record in the history in Television industry. This programme will give the present generation and bhajan groups across the south a platform to exhibit their incredible talent," it added.
The channel aims to spread the essence of culture to the diversified mass to experience the "spiritual enlightenment" and adapt "morality" in every aspect of life Sankara TV is available in Kannada and Tamil and plans to launch in other south Indian languages.
