Star gets rival talent hunt winners together on R Day
MUMBAI: Star Plus will air a special programme on 26 January at 1 pm, bringing together singers from recent talent hunts like Voice of India, Indian Idol and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa.
The singers will pay tribute to the martyrs and legends who sacrificed their life for the freedom of our country.
This is the first attempt of its kind in the history of Indian television, when contestants from competing general entertainment channels will be seen together celebrating the spirit of freedom. The show 'Rang De India' brings together the likes of Voice of India winner Ishmeet Singh Sodhi, the runner up Harshit Saxena and Ashprit, Sumitra Iyer, Irfan Khan from the clan, Sa Re Ga Ma Stars Vineet Singh, Rajeev, Hemachandra and Indian Idol stars Rahul Vaidya, Prajakta Shukre and Karunya.
"Rang De India will not only be visual and a musical treat for the music lovers across the country but also the largest pot pourri of talented and popular youngsters from various talent hunt shows across Indian television spreading the message of unity and harmony to all the Indians viewing the show", says Star Plus' Senior Creative Director, Anupama Mandloi, in a release.
The high points will be Ai mere watan ke logon by Alka Yagnik. The performances will surely dampen many eyes tuning in to Rang De India. To tone the mood light, there will be power packed performances by Shaan humming Om shanti Om and Jhoom barabar jhoom.
