Stevie Wonder to receive 'Icon Award' at 2012 BMA

MUMBAI: The legendary singer, songwriter and producer Stevie Wonder will be honoured with the ‘Icon Award’ at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards. The live ceremony is scheduled to be held on 20 May at MGM Grand Arena.
Wonder started his career at the age of 17 with his song ‘Fingertips (Pt. 2)’. He has delivered 32 number one singles and several classic albums including Songs in the Key of Life, Talking Book and Music of My Mind.
Performers at the award ceremony include Kelly Clarkson, Linkin Park, Nelly Furtado, Usher, CeeLo Green, Carrie Underwood, Justin Bieber, LMFAO and The Wanted.
Hosted by Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell of Modern Family, the awards show will have presenters like Brandy and Monica, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Sara Ramirez, Wiz Khalifa and Lil Wayne, Taio Cruz, Gavin DeGraw, Gladys Knight, Julianne Hough, Natasha Bedingfield and Jeremy Sisto.
Adele has won maximum nods with 18 nominations, followed by LMFAO and Rihanna with 17 and 13 nods each. Lady Gaga and Lil Wayne have 10 each.
