MUMBAI: For the Holi season, Times Music has released popular folk singer Malini Awasthi's album, Holi Hai, in which she presents different colours of traditional Holi songs sung in Awadh, Banaras, Brij and Bundelkhand. Holi Hai is a collection of traditional music and songs like Hori Khela Ghunghatwali, Phagunwa Mein Rang Ras Ras Barse, and Holi Khele Masane Mein for a vibrant and traditional celebration of Holi.

Malini, a disciple of Thumri proponent Padma Vibhushan Girija Devi Ji, is a leading Thumri singer of the Banaras Gharana, and is acclaimed for her gaayiki  and performances. Recognized for her distinctive style of singing which is a beautiful combination of soulful renditions of melodies, Malini is equally accomplished in Ghazal and Sufi gaayiki.
