MUMBAI: After launching Raghu Dixit, Shekhar Ravijani and Vishal Dadlani, better known as composer duo Vishal Shekhar are now looking at launching some more 'complete artistes' under their newly launched music label.

The duo launched Vishal and Shekhar Music late last month, with an album by singer Raghu Dixit, who they claim has been blessed with a 'brilliant voice' but had been unable to find a music label that would support his music.Vishal - Shekhar, who have pumped in their own finances for Raghu's debut album, say they are now looking for similar talented artistes, who are not merely singers, but 'complete artistes' capable of arranging music, playing instruments and writing, composing and singing their own tunes."That's the way it works in the West," points out Ravijani. "Internationally, artistes compose, play their instruments and are also the face of their videos."

The duo says they have met up with some exceptional talent that they could launch shortly under their new label. Industry support has flowed in for Vishal Shekhar's new venture from Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar and Farah Khan, while Shankar Ehsaan Loy have already expressed their approval for Raghu's voice. "We may not have money power, but we definitely have the power of relationships in the industry," he quips.
"Most singers in India today don't have their own style and prefer to ape established vocalists. Abroad, it is the artiste who becomes popular because he appears in front of the public as a complete package.

Raghu is one such - he has been active on the show circuit and college gigs and has made international appearances, and he has been performing original compositions," points out Ravijani.
