X Factor winner Melanie Amaro inks deal with Epic Records

MUMBAI: Epic Records has signed a recording deal with Melanie Amaro following her triumphant in The X Factor – Season One.
The contract will place Amaro under the management of The X Factor judge Antonio �L.A.' Reid (Epic Records Chairman/CEO). The deal is a part of �X Factor' awards, which also includes $5 million cash prize, recording contract with Epic's parent company Sony Music and role in Pepsi commercial which will air during the Super Bowl in February.
Reid said, "I joined The X Factor to be able to discover undeniable talent such as Melanie. I am pleased that she is now signed to Epic Records because I believe we have only scratched the surface on uncovering her talent and her inevitable journey to super-stardom."
Amaro who won the coveted title under the mentorship of Simon Cowell said, I am so excited to start recording my debut album for Epic under the guidance of L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell. This is a dream come true for me....
The 19-year-old singer surpassed runners-up Josh Krajcik and Chris Renee for the title, with a performance of Beyonce's �Listen'. The X Factor was produced by Syco Television and FremantleMedia North America.
