Living Voices - Western Vocal Music Concert

Body:

Living Voices - Western Vocal Music Concert. Director: Blossom Mendonca.

In collaboration with Bombay Music and Cultural Society.

A repeat show of the performance held on 5th November, 2009, due to public demand.

The Living Voices, western music vocal ensemble, founded in 1982 by Blossom Mendonca, well known Mumbai musician and teacher, has won many accolades: first prize at its debut performance in an all-Mumbai competition, the Chubb Rotating Trophy and the Dr & Mrs L. D'Souza Trophy at the Festival of Festive Music in 1984. This is a group that is at home with all genres, be it Gregorian chants, spirituals, pop or jazz. While the ensemble has to its credit performances of major classical works with the Bombay Chamber Orchestra, such as the Messa di Gloria by Puccini and the Coronation Mass by Mozart, this time it's a programme of light music.

The programme will consist of light music and include songs like The Music of the Night, Java Jive, Vive L'Amour, Fiddler on the Roof, Christmas carols and others.
