Prabhudheva’s Ramaiya Vastavaiya is the remake of his debut Telugu blockbuster ‘Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana’. The film, produced by Kumar Taurani introduces his son Girish opposite Shruti Haasan. The romantic film has six original tracks composed by talented duo composer Sachin-Jigar and penned by Priya Panchal. Recently, Sachin-Jigar had composed track for zombie comedy flick ‘Go Goa Gone’ which had the entertaining number ‘Khoon Choosle’ which was lovely tribute to the killer day of the week-Monday. Now let’s see which track from the latest flick becomes a hit.
‘Jeene Laga Hoon’ is the first track from the soundtrack which is quiet a delight to ones ears. The track is a good mix of melodious music accompanied with awesome duet by Aslam and Ghoshal. This was the very first song that was released on 10 May. Panchal’s lyrics are simple yet at the same time targeting the theme of romance. The soulful combination of Aslam and Ghoshal is the power of the track.
After all the romance, Singh with his style of singing pumps in some energy along with Thakur in ‘Hip Hop Pammi’. Heavy dhol is the default indicator for the energy of the track. To see how it is presented visually surely one will have to wait for the video to be out. The way Singh teases and stresses the word ‘Pammji’ is so flattering. Lyrically, it is a Hindi track with pinch of Punjabi and English words. The fast beat at the climax of the track is fun.
Next track ‘Bairiyaa’, is a romantic single rendered by Aslam and Ghoshal. Magic of the strings is the best in the music of the track. There are lots of drums through-out the song but the strings used in the start are wonderful. The song gradually takes you slowly and steadily into it.
Chauhan’s ‘Peecha Chhute’ is an average naughty number. All the elements in the track sound disconnected. Lyrically, it doesn’t state the purpose or meaning of the track clearly. Chauhan’s voice also couldn’t create the magic or connect needed.
‘Rang Jo Lagyo’ is yet another intense romantic track by Aslam and Ghoshal. This is combination of good mix of music and lyrics. It is a mix of tabla and drums which adds the intense romantic feel needed. The song describes the passion of male protagonist of the film and Aslam’s voice adds the needed flavor. Hopefully, it will click among the audience.
‘Jadoo Ki Jhappi’- a peppy item number rendered by Kakkar and Singh. It is milder version of the typical item numbers in terms of the music and lyrics. Singh has added his style that makes it lovely to hear. Whistling and use of flute is a great combination. The composers have made a powerful use of the flute in the dance number. The remixed version ‘Jadoo Ki Jhappi’ is ‘Jadoo Ki Jhappi 2’ with heavy use of flute and whistles.
'Jeene Laga Hoon', 'Bairiyaa' and 'Rang Jo Lagyo' come in set of romantic tracks that can be in your playlists. Overall, the tracks are average but do make it a point to listen to the efforts of the composers put in the album.
