Top 10: Bollywood Ganesh Chaturthi songs

MUMBAI: Ganesh Chaturthi, one of Maharashtra’s biggest festivals, is back in town and every street in the state is busy celebrating it with great pomp and joy. This festival, popular for many reasons, has also served as inspiration for several Bollywood Ganesh songs. So if you are in the mood to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi, here are some great songs for the occasion.

Deva Shree Ganesha: This song from the 2012 film ‘Agneepath’ starring Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra is probably one of the best Ganesh Chaturthi tracks. Composed by Ajay-Atul it is sung by Ajay Gogavale. The music video of the song starts with the ‘maha aarti’ and then goes onto showcase the enthusiasm of Ganesh devotees. Musically the number stays upbeat throughout.

Hey Ganaraya: This song is a visual treat and is a part of the Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor starrer ‘ABCD 2’. Talented music composer duo Sachin-Jigar has given the song a ‘Maharashtrian feel’ which works in its favour. Sung by Divya Kumar, the track is musically strong and makes for a great listen.

Sadda Dil Vi Tu (Ga Ga Ga Ganpati): Another ‘ABCD’ song, this one is also composed by the magical duo- Sachin-Jigar and is sung by Hard Kaur. A beautifully sounding track, it has a western touch, and visually it is larger than life.

Morya Re: This track from the 2006, Shah Rukh Khan starrer- ‘Don: The Chase Begins’ is a Ganpati song that every soul would want to dance to. The music is classic Shaankar-Ehsaan-Loy music and the accompanying video showcases Ganpati fever in full gusto.

Shree Ganeshay Dheemahi: This musical piece is a part of a prayer scene in the film ‘Viruddh’. ‘Shree Ganeshay Dheemanhi’ was selected from one of the Stavanas of Lord Ganesha by Marathi music composers Ajay-Atul, and is sung by Shankar Mahadevan.

Ganapati Bappa Agle Baras Tu: This track from the 1993 hit film ‘Aasoo Bane Angaarey’ stars Jeetendra and Madhuri Dixit. This musical piece is undoubtedly a visual treat for Dixit fans, while the musical composition by Rajesh Roshan is sure to be enjoyed by all Lord Ganesha devotees.

Sindoor Lal Chadayo: This song is a beautiful aarti from the 1999 film ‘Vaastav’ where the film’s lead character, played by Sanjay Dutt, and his wife are seen seeking Lord Ganesha’s blessings in a temple. The music is composed by Jatin-Lalit and the track is sung by Ravindra Sathe.

Ganpati Apne Gaon Chale: This musical rendition from ‘Agneepath’, one of the most talked about films in the early 90s. ‘Ganpati Apne Gaon Chale’ was one of the most unforgettable tracks from that film. Composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal, vocals for the track were lent by Sudesh Bhosle, Kavita Krishnamurthy and Anupama Deshpande.

 

Deva O Deva: This song from the 1997 film ‘Mahaanta’ is yet another Ganpati track starring Madhuri Dixit, which adds to its visual appeal. Alka Yagnik’s melodious voice adds to Laxmikant Pyarelal’s musical composition, making it a wonderful song to listen to.

Deva Ho Deva: This song from ‘Humse Badkar Kaun’ depicts outstanding work by music composer Raamlaxman, while vocals by talented singers like Mohammed Rafi, Bhupinder Singh, Shailender Singh, Sapna Chakraborty and Asha Bhosle add to the beauty of this song.

Games
