MUMBAI: Microsoft launched two Windows 10 Mobile phones- the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL in India.
Both, the Lumia 950 and 950XL, sport a matte polycarbonate shell body, removable back cover and a removable battery. The phones also come with a set of two antennas and support adaptive antenna technology that helps to connect to the best signal, automatically. Both devices also feature a liquid cooling technology that prevents the phones from getting heated.
The Lumia 950 comes with a 5.2 inch screen and 1.82GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor with Adreno 418 GPU, while the Lumia 950XL features a larger, 5.7-inch display, and 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 processor coupled with Adreno 430 GPU. However, both phones are fitted with QuadHD AMOLED display with a 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution and 3GB RAM, with 32GB inbuilt storage that can be expanded to 2TB. Capable of supporting 4G LTE, both devices also sport a 20-megapixel camera on the rear with Carl Zeiss optics, optical image stabilisation (Gen 5), autofocus and triple-LED RGB flash. The phones also have a 5-megapixel front camera.
The Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL come with a USB Type-C port for fast charging and data syncing. While the former includes a 3,000mAh battery, the latter has a 3,340mAh battery.
Designed to support the Windows 10 Continuum feature, via a dedicated Microsoft Display Dock, both phones can be extended to a full blown desktop Windows 10 when connected to an external monitor. The dock also comes with additional support for mouse and keyboard input.
The Lumia 950 has been priced at Rs 43,699, while the Lumia 950XL is available at Rs 49,399. The phones can currently be pre-booked, and will be available for purchase from 11 December, 2015.
