Junoon dedicates the latest music release to the late songwriter Junaid Jamshed

MUMBAI: As the Pakistani rock band Junoon nears its delayed release of the seventh studio album ‘Junoon 25’, fans are growing restless to find out what the new effort would sound like. The band, today, released a music video starring ex-cricketer Wasim Akram, his wife Shaneira Akram, titled ‘Door (Bahot Door)’ on its social media platforms. The video also features frontman Salman Ahmad.

Music fraternity is still mourning the loss of singer-songwriter Junaid Jamshed who died in a plane crash in Pakistan on 7 December, and the band had been constantly sharing the memories related to the late musician. Salman Ahmad and Junaid Jamshed were close friends and collaborated several times for live shows, the most memorable and popular effort being ‘Tumhara Aur Mera Naam’ live show in 1995.

It’s quite understandable that the unfortunate incident, that killed Jamshed and his wife, has affected the band who considered him as a “soul friend and brother”. Apart from a music video dedicated to Jamshed, Salman Ahmad has been sharing some fond memories and thoughts about the former Vital Signs singer.

The band’s music video is available on Junoon’s website and Universal Music iTunes.
