MUMBAI: We as a nation have talent in abundance. There is no dearth of good singer, dancers, actors and people with various other art forms. We also have platforms in the form of reality shows to showcase this talent. For few, they turn out to be a curse while a blessing for others.
&TV’s ‘The Voice India Kids’ was a blessing for its winners Nishtha Sharma as she did not just take the trophy back home, but also some fame. 2016, ‘The Voice Kids’ winner has now become a celebrity in her hometown Sultanpur. “Everyone treats me like a celebrity back home,” giggled the young girl who has now joined hands with the global music label, Universal.
Nishtha recently released her debut single with Universal Music titled ‘Udd Chala’. The young singer has not just lent her voice to the single, she also features in it. The song is based on Nishtha’s aspirations in life. She is passionate about music and she wants her dreams to keep flying higher and lyrics of the song do complete justice to her feelings.
‘The Voice Kids’ winner has been inspiring the ones around her for a while now and the single is just an extension of that feeling. “Ever since I got back home, I have seen kids, my brothers and sisters get inspired by me. They wish to be like me, a passionate singer. People in my hometown who did not give much importance to music, are now giving it priority,” said Nishtha, who is now changing people’s outlook.
“The song is all about me and my dreams. I love nature and it has been shot at nature-centric areas, which was the best part. I found no difficulties during my debut since I just had to sing, something I love and be me in the video, it was an easy task,” said Nishtha.
Furthermore, the little girl plans to make her future not only as a singer but also a doctor. “I am serious about my studies and singing both. So, I want to be a doctor and singer. I want to inspire the people by giving both the careers equal priority, instead of choosing one,” pointed out Nishtha.
Lastly, the singer revealed her Bollywood favourite playback singers. The one who tops her list is Bollywood Queen Asha Bhosle. She is an avid follower of the legendary singer's work. From the current generation, Nishtha admires Shreya Ghoshal and Sunidhi Chauhan and wishes to be successful and powerful like these divas.
