MUMBAI: Vaadi-E- Kashmir, a short film depicting love for Kashmir, curated by veteran actress Hema Malini with music given by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and lyrics penned by Gulzar has been making heads turn. The industry and audience have not only appreciated the movie but also its music.

Thus, we at Radioandmusic contacted Ehsaan Noorani to understand the thought process behind the music of Vaadi-E-Kashmir.

Speaking about the opportunity as well as the concept of Vaadi-E- Kashmir, Noorani says, “Hema Malini approached Shankar (Mahadevan) and elucidated the concept to him and then later upon the discussions Loy and I readily agreed as well. The concept speaks about spreading love to Kashmir and its people. Kashmir is in a bad shape right now and the city which is known as ‘Heaven on Earth’ is now the city of violence.

“Gulzar Saheb’s lyrics have really captured the essence of that beautiful place. The making of the song was a smooth process and the lyrics just added to the beauty.”
