MUMBAI: Percept Live, the creators of Sunburn, Asia's biggest music festival, announced the premiere edition of the 'Bollyboom @ Home Baisakhi Festival Celebrations 2020'. The 3 day festive celebrations featuring an amazing assortment of top Bollywood DJs and Live Acts will be Live Streamed from 11th to 13 April 2020 exclusively on the Bollyboom India Facebook and Instagram handles.
Bollyboom is an Intellectual Property of Percept Live, a forerunner that introduced a new genre called Bollywood Electro Music, a fusion of Bollywood music and electronic sounds in the festival market in India in 2013. The innovative Bollyboom@Home Live Streaming venture was launched on 28 March 2020 with an aim to drive the ‘Social Distancing’ rules and lockdown mandate enforced by governments across India in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic. The innovative digital venture has so far featured leading artists including Shibani Kashyap, Kanika Malhotra, Avanie Joshi, Avanti Nagral and Shreya Jain and top DJs like Paroma, Hardik, Ali Merchant, Rink, Aqeel, Montz, Joel, Rohit Gidda and Rio. Given the #SocialDistancing rules enforced since mid-March 2020, the ‘Bollyboom @ Home’ Live Stream has come as a marvelous entertainment option for Bollywood music fans in the safety of their homes. The venture has seen a steady rise in e-footfalls with thousands of views, shares, likes, and comments online.
The much anticipated ‘Bollyboom @ Home Digital Baisakhi Festival Celebrations 2020’ will extend from 11th – 13th April 2020 and feature a sensational and eclectic mix of dynamic prominent DJs and Live Acts spanning Yasser Desai, Kavita Seth, Ali Merchant, Naitik Nagda, Shahid Mallya, DJ Suketu, Raj Barman, Kanika Malhotra, Nikhita Gandhi, DJ Rink, Shadab Faridi, Abhijeet Sawant, DJ Lemon, Suryaveer Hooja, RCR, Stebin Ben, Nikhil Paralikar, Jaspinder Narula, DJ Joel, Manj Musik RDB, Javed Ali, DJ Paroma, and will be hosted by Munawar Faruqui.
The Baisakhi Festival is heralded as the traditional Solar New Year across Northern India and also commemorates harvest season of the Rabi crop for the people of the Punjab region. The day is observed as a thanksgiving day by farmers wherein farmers pay their tribute, thanking God for the abundant harvest and also praying for future prosperity. The festival also coincides with other New Year festivals celebrated on the first day of Vaisakh in other regions of the Indian subcontinent.
Janamjai Sehgal, Business Head – Bollyboom said, "The launch of the Bollyboom @ Home Baisakhi Festival Celebration seemed very apt in a year where Mother Earth has reminded us of the importance of respecting the bounty generously given by her year after year. The Festival may have many names across the Indian sub-continent but connects all Indians through the common thread of music, dance and the spirit of thanksgiving. We have a fantastic line-up of Artists and Live Acts over a period of three days for our premiere Bollyboom Baisakhi edition that will not only become a great platform to connect all our fans and help them celebrate the festival in the safety of their homes but also offer an opportunity where we can collectively offer our thanks to the planet and remind ourselves to respect her generosity through the vibrant platform of music.”
