MUMBAI: In India, jazz music has had its own set of loyalists for decades. The genre always manages to pull in a niche and discerning audience that understands its intricacies, its diverse range and the variety of rhythmic arrangements it has to offer. With patrons gaining access to a variety of genres in the digital age, very few of them have the requisite exposure to jazz music, even though India has consistently produced a plethora of young talent in the last few years.
Keeping this thought in mind, the NCPA introduces Let's Talk Jazz; a series with veteran music writer Narendra Kusnur who will introduce both laymen and novices to the splendor of jazz music, helping them further develop their understanding of the genre. This initiative by NCPA will include live sessions in which Kusnur will talk about the evolution of the genre, legends that have left a permanent mark & the contemporary scene for Jazz in India that remains largely unchartered.
