Two FM stations hit airwaves in Puducherry

MUMBAI: Two FM stations have hit the airwaves of Puducherry. Reliance ADAG's Big FM has launched its 41st station in Puducherry, while Malar Publications' Hello FM has launched its sixth station. Already operational in places that include Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata and Bangalore among others, Big FM will launch four more stations to complete its total count of 45 stations across India. Big FM Pondicherry shows are Suprabatham, Inia Vazhtugal, breakfast show Big Vanakkam, Chinna Chinna aasai, o Podu, Ennama Kannu and Ragasiyamaai among others.

Sun's SFM launches in Vijayawada

MUMBAI: Sun TV Network's SFM through its subsidiary Kal Radio has launched in Vijayawada. After the launch, its total number of SFM stations will go up to 17 across India. SFM is already operational in Chennai, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, Visakhapatnam, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Tirupati, Madurai, Tuticorin, Lucknow, Bhopal, Pondicherry, Kozhikode (Calicut) and Indore. The company will launch 28 more stations to be present in 45 stations all over India.

Asianet's Best FM goes live in Thrissur

MUMBAI: The Thrissur station of Best FM 95, a radio station launched by Asianet, was inaugurated on Sunday. Staging of programmes by participants of Idea Star Singer contest, comedy skits and dance shows marked the inauguration. Best FM is the third private FM Station started operations from Kerala in less than two weeks.The first private FM station of Kerala Radio Mango from the Malayala Manorama group of publications, that started its operation from Calicut followed by the SFM from Sun TV network.

Radio City ties up with Universal Music for Eagles album

MUMBAI: Radio City has tied up with Universal Music for exclusive radio rights of The Eagles music album Long Road out of Eden. As part of this association, Radio City is conducting a three-day Eagles special on its City City Bang Bang. This includes an exclusive 'Eagles in conversation' interview, airplay of tracks from the album, exciting contests and back-to-back Eagles tracks on the show. The FM station will also provide Eagles merchandise, twin-pack CDs of Long Road out of Eden and DVDs of the Hell Freezes Over album.

Ranbir Kapoor is Red FM's Santa

MUMBAI: Red FM has launched a contest 'Red Superhit Santa Ki Jholi Main Kya'to celebrate Christmas, wherein actor Ranbir Kapoor will be the 'Red Santa'. Besides Red FM in association with Globus and Cancer Patients Association, is inviting Mumbaikars to donate presents and garments for needy and deprived children. All the presents thus collected will be placed inside a huge stocking installed at Globus. Radio City ties-up with Dare2Dream for The Odd Couple

MUMBAI: Radio City, Bangalore has tied up with Dare2Dream, an NGO to host a fund-raising performance of The Odd Couple. As a part of the tie-up, the FM station ran a five day on-air contest to enhance awareness of the performance, the proceeds of which would go towards the education of lesser privileged children. DJ Megha turns producer with debut album

MUMBAI:DJ Megha, a pioneer on the female DJ-circuit, has turned producer with her debut album DJ Megha Radioactive - Blue and Green, brought out by Times Music. The video of one of the songs featured in the album 'Thoda Sa Thehro' is already on air. Four of India's top models, Fleur Xavier, Nina Manuel, Dippanita Sharma and Jesse Randhawa star in the video. The album comprises nine tracks of Bollywood electro. Megha, in her album, incorporates elements of House, R&B, swing, bhangra, reggae, rap and disco with 'traditional' music.

Big FM's Hissar RJs in on-air marathon

MUMBAI:The Big 92.7 FM RJs Saurav and Sanjay from Hissar station will be on-air for 48 hours continuously to support a Hepatitis C patient - Jogender Singh, who is unable to meet his own medical treatment due to financial constraints. The jocks will be heard live 24x7 from 22 December from 7 am till 24 December 6 am requesting people to support Singh and sharing information on preventive measures on Hepatitis C. In addition to this on-air marathon, Big FM has also organized a rally on today to request people to come forward and raise money for the treatment.
