MUMBAI: The season of dhol and masti returns to Bollywood as the makers of JugJugg Jeeyo release their first song from the much awaited film over the weekend. The groovy dance number titled The Punjaabban Song, features the inimitable Varun Dhawan along with Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, and Neetu Kapoor doing Bhangra on dhol beats. The song is a fresh rendition of the loved Pakistani song Nach Punjaban.
Sung by Gippy Grewal, Zahrah S Khan, Tanishk Bagchi and Romy, with music and lyrics by Tanishk Bagchi and Abrar Ul Haq. The original Nach Punjaban song was sung by Pakistani singer Abrar Ul Haq. Within two days of release, the song has captured the hearts of netizens. Instagram reels dedicated to the track are flooding timelines.
It’s an important and proud moment for actor turned songstress Zahrah, who is only soaking in the love and accolades coming her way. “The song has really caught on and I am filled with gratitude for how it’s received. It’s a pretty iconic number but Tanishk made it his own by giving to it the desired Bollywood tadka. Friends and family are calling in to tell me how much they liked it. I loved working on the song. It was a joyride all along. Now that I see the video, I feel Varun Kiara Anil Sir and Neetu Ma’am have upped the energy of the number.”
The song is expected to rule charts over the next few weeks after opening to the thunderous first response.
