MUMBAI: 'Saturday Saturday' singer Akriti Kakar is all set for a US Tour, along with Bollywood singers Ankit Tiwari and Shilpa Rao. The tour will commence on 10 April at Dallas. She will be joined by her sisters Prakriti and Sukriti for one of the segments.
"We have performed together and the most fascinating part is when the audience looks at almost similar faces who can sing. We plan to include a lot of elements of various genres of music and will present something which will be unique," said Kakar.
The singer is extremely excited about this tour and is looking forward to it. "I am very excited to go to US after 16 years. I had last gone there when I was with Kalyanji Anandji's musical troop. Also I get a lot of traction from the US and I would love to see the way NRIs respond to the songs," added Kakar.
According to her, 'Saturday Saturday' from the film 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya' and 'Iski Uski' from '2 States' will be the most popular songs.
Kakar is elated with the kind of responses recent single 'Kolkata Diaries' garnered. She revealed that she has another single ready and intends to release it on Mother's Day. "The single is already recorded and the video is in place, but I will not be in the country to see the final product. I shall be back in India only a few days before Mother's Day. So let us hope for the best," she elucidated.
The three sisters are also planning to release a combined single this year, but are still to start work on it.
