Don't Worry, be happy!

MUMBAI: We present a few observations and interesting vignettes from the India Radio Forum, Mumbai. At the session, What Do Advertisers Want?, Friends FM Business Head Amritendu Roy made an emotional appeal to advertisers to understand the medium. He questioned why innovations should be expected only from radio. "Sometimes, advertisers expect too much out of us, but they should understand that we are not event managers. It is my emotional appeal to the advertisers to understand the medium."

Shailja Naqvi joins My FM as national programming head

MUMBAI: Synergy Media Entertainment Limited has appointed Shailja Naqvi as the national programming head of 94.3 My FM. Prior to this, Shailja has had more than twelve years of corporate media experience. Last, she served as the national programming headat Dhamaal 24 and was responsible for the successful launch of nine stations under the banner. Naqvi replaces Viplove Gupte who joined Big FM as national programming director.

Delhi's Big high on music, not tobacco

Radio City hits the 20 stations mark

MUMBAI: Radio City which has won licenses to operate in 20 cities across the country, completed its mark with the recent launches of Jalgaon and Nanded in Maharashtra. This also marks the completion of Radio Citys Maharashtra Network with nine FM stations in its home state. T-Series averages first half; expects to hit bull's eye in second half

MUMBAI: T-Series has released a clutch of 10 Hindi film music albums in the first half of the year. While some have done extremely well, others have just managed an average play. Disney holds Hannah Montana Pop Star auditions in Mumbai

MUMBAI: Disney Channel's Hannah Montana -The Big Pop Star Dream auditions were held on 24 May in Mumbai. The closed door auditions selected 400 finalists from over 2000 kids. These kids sang and grooved to Bollywood hits and songs from Disney Channel Original Movies - High School Musica 1 and High School Musical 2. These performances will be reviewed by Anushka Manchanda, the pop star of the VIVA band fame.

MUMBAI: Being an Indian contesting the American Idol, Sanjaya Malakar hogged the limelight. Now it is his turn to get advertisers in.
