Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor scores trailer for new Batman: Arkham Knight video game

MUMBAI: Industrial rock act Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor can be seen credited as a 'music consultant' for the new live-action trailer for upcoming action-adventure video game ‘Batman: Arkham Knight’. This marks the third time Reznor has been credited for his involvement in video games. Back in 1997, Reznor, along with Nine Inch Nails, provided the music and sound effects for a video game called ‘Quake’. More recently, Reznor provided the theme music for the extremely successful video game ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops II'.

'Batman: Arkham Knight' will be made available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms beginning 23 June. You can watch the video featuring Trent Reznor’s original music as well as Nine Inch Nails’ old track ‘The Wretched’ below:

The live-action trailer for ‘Batman: Arkham Knight’ is directed by Tim Cronenweth and Jeff Cronenweth. Reznor previously worked with the Cronenweth brothers on ‘Gone Girl’, for which they were directors of photography.

Reznor, along with British musician and audio engineer Atticus Ross, were nominated for a Grammy Award and a Golden Globe for their original composition for the blockbuster hit film ‘Gone Girl’, directed by David Fincher. Fincher had also directed a music video for Nine Inch Nails’ 2005 track – ‘Only’.

Reznor was recently spotted at the art exhibition of British artist Russell Mills in Halifax. Mills previously worked with Nine Inch Nails in 1994 for the band’s sophomore album – ‘The Downward Spiral’. Mills created the artwork for the album’s cover and booklet, as well as all of the associated singles. Mills also created the artworks for Nine Inch Nails’ latest studio album – ‘Hesitation Marks’ in 2013. Since then, Nine Inch Nails has also released a remix EP called ‘Seed Eight’ in early 2014.
