Radio City Lucknow hunts for 'City Ke Kaminey'!

MUMBAI: Radio City's Lucknow station is asking its listeners to… well,  get brazen and win a lakh of rupees. X Factor announces $5 mn Sony Music/Syco record deal for winner

Bryan Adams to perform at Cricket World Cup opening ceremony

MUMBAI: Bryan Adams will be the only western artist to perform at the Opening Ceremonies for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, which ESPN will broadcast to a TV audience of 200 million people. The February 17 performance will fall near the end of Adams' tour of India that begins on February 11 in Pune  Also on the itinerary will be Bangalore, New Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai – the city of his first concert in India in January 1994 on the cricket grounds in Brabourne Stadium.

Rahman to perform at Oscars

MUMBAI: AR Rahman, who has got two nominations at this year's Oscars, will be performing at the prestigious award ceremony in Los Angeles. The music maestro, who has been nominated in original score and original song - for his work in Danny Boyle`s 127 Hours, will team up with British pop singer Florence Welch to perform �If I Rise' from the film. Copyright issue: Entertainment industry meets HRD minister

NEW DELHI: The Human Resource Development Ministry is to consider the various demands of the music and film industry and avoid any confrontation on the issue of copyright of music. This was conveyed by HRD Minister Kapil Sibal in a meeting with representatives of the music and film industry delegation yesterday in connection with their objections to the recent announcements by the Copyright Board.
