IRS Q4-2010: Radio continues to fall

MUMBAI: Radio has been falling, even as Cable & Satellite (C&S) and Internet are growing strongly in reach when compared to the sequential quarter, as per the IRS 2010 Q4 data released yesterday by the Media Research Users Council (MRUC). It reveals that radio is the only sector which is continuing to de-grow. In the IRS Q4 report, radio's total reach dipped to 163.91 million -- a negative CAGR of 9.8% over Q3, when it was 168.67 million, which too had dropped from the Q2 figure of 172.60 million.

Hathway launches cable music channel

MUMBAI: Hathway Cable & Datacom has launched a music channel on its digital cable network. The 24-hour pure music channel, Hathway Music, will showcase the Bollywood songs sans any music jockeys. The songs list will comprise golden classics of 50's-60's to the melodious hits of 80'-90's to the latest Bollywood hits of today. The channel will be initially available in some areas of Mumbai, Pune, Nashik and later on other cities on Hathway Digital Cable Network.

Saregama to release Soundtrack on 12 August

MUMBAI: Saregama Films will release its film Soundtrack on 12 August. Soundtrack is said to be a remake of the multi-award winning film It's All Gone Pete Tong.
