MUMBAI: Times Music has released a new single titled ‘Jindriye’ by Nooran Sisters, who found their break into Bollywood with the release of Imtiaz Ali’s film ‘Highway’. The single is producer Vijay Dhammi, a well-known lyricist from Punjabi films, while the music is composed by Jassi Nihaluwal.
Times Music has already released the video for the track, which has been directed by Robbie Singh. The video features Sonika Parashar, Waris Dhammi, and is based on the fashion and glamour industry where gullible artists, or others who are attached to the glamour world, are exploited by competitors and contemporaries.
Jyoti Nooran and Sultana Nooran achieved fame after they sang a composition by music maestro A R Rahman called ‘Pataka Guddi’ for the Bollywood film ‘Highway’. The duo also received a Filmfare Award for Best Singer for the track.
Post the success of ‘Pataka Guddi’, the Nooran sisters have sung several hits for both Hindi and Punjabi films. The sisters come from a village called Nakodar, in Jalandhar. They have made a name for themselves in the Sufi music world having been trained in Sufi music for 10 years by their father Gulshan Mir. Their grandmother- Bibi Nooran was also a well-known singer of her time.
