Big FM celebrates UN World Food Day

MUMBAI: Big FM Rajkot has celebrated the UN World Food Day by distributing food to underprivileged children. The initiative was aimed at raising awareness about those who live in a constant state of hunger across the country and world.

The Big FM team including RJ Makrand distributed the food packets containing theplas and moong ka lachka to the underprivileged children and elders at Panchnath Temple, Balaji Temple, Geban Shah Pir (dargah) and railway station.

The 1000 food packets were sponsored by Ameet Raithatha and Naimee Khakhar of Chowkidani Resort.Big FM Rajkot station head Nishant Thadani said, "We are thankful to Chowkidani Resort who readily agreed to lend support to this noble initiative and sponsor food for these children. There are thousands of people in Rajkot who cannot afford even one square meal a day. We believe at least today these people and their little children will not have to sleep without food. Through the CSR activity on the World Food Day, we have certainly made some difference in there lives. Besides, by taking on-air the excitement around the distribution of food packs, we hope we have inspired the people of this city to practice charity and instill a humanitarian concern for the less privileged."
