Red FM celebrates six years with Global Indian Music Awards

MUMBAI: Red FM, India’s most awarded and largest private radio network can’t be far away from superhit music, immensely talented music stars and exciting music awards. That’s why, Red FM has partnered with the Global Indian Music Awards (GIMA) – the most definitive music awards platform – for the sixth consecutive year. GIMA 2016 was held in Mumbai in a glittering ceremony that saw attendance from some of the most renowned and celebrated music talent in India. And, as tradition goes, Red FM listeners selected and awarded the best radio song of the year. 'The Radio Song of the Year' presented by Superhits Red FM BajaateRaho! was awarded to an ecstatic Pritam and Arijit Singh for the song ‘Gerua.’ The coveted award was presented by Minal Sharma, the National Revenue Head for Red FM.

As promised the GIMA awards this year was more fun-filled and louder with the biggest of B-town stars on the red carpet. Red FM’s loud and funny prankster, RJ Abhilash was with the stars on the red carpet making sure that fans and music lovers alike get a big slice of the behind the scenes humdrum. RJ Abhilash interacted with celebrities on the red carpet and captured the quirky and funny moments for Red FM’s official Facebook page and YouTube channel. The award hosted by Ayushmann Khurrana, witnessed several Bollywood stars, including Sonakshi Sinha, Amitabh Bachchan, Arjun Kapoor and Aditi Rao Hydari attending the event.

Sharing her views on the long partnership with GIMA Awards, Red FM National Revenue Head Minal Sharma said, “GIMA is the biggest music award show in India and RED FM has been a proud radio partner for six years now. Red FM is all about the music and entertainment and GIMA amplifies these attributes beautifully at the awards function. This year’s Red FM Radio Song of The Year - Gerua - was a true listeners’ favourite and we are very happy to have honoured our listeners’ Bajaate Raho choice.”

For the last six years, GIMA awards have become the most sought after Industry recognition for the best of music talent. While artists aspire to win a GIMA once, the music aficionados look forward to the entertaining acts by their favourite artists. For fans in Mumbai, the GIMA Fan Park hosted by Red FM star RJ Nasar and RJ J-Manat the GIMA awards, gave them an opportunity to be the midst the leading Bollywood celebrities as they made their way towards the red carpet. The fan also witnessed impromptu performances by popular artists, participate in the fun games and exclusive autograph and picture opportunities among other interactive activities planned for the special day.
