MUMBAI: Big FM, known for its retro programming is ringing in the classic retro vibe for the second consecutive year with 'Yaadon Mein Pancham' - a month-long ode to the legendary artist R.D. Burman. While bringing alive the golden era and to honour his contribution to the music industry, Big FM celebrates the renowned music composer’s birth anniversary by revisiting his vast repertoire of evergreen classics. This June will be dedicated to Pancham Da and his contemporaries as well as an entire generation of musicians who will reminisce how he has been an inspiration, a mentor, a friend or a motivation to them.

Fondly remembered as Pancham Da, he was known to be the most seminal music directors of all time. His experimental compositions have been an inspiration to artists and fans alike, often being credited for revolutionizing music in the film industry. The radio network across its 36 HSMs and regional markets, will play songs and share exclusive stories about the music director on its most heard show ‘Suhaana Safar with Annu Kapoor’. The daily afternoon time band will be dedicated to sharing more exclusive stories with listeners, and the evening time band will render listeners with unplugged versions of his compositions.

Musicians and artists such as Javed Akhtar, Gulzar, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Pyaarelal, Anu Malik, Shaan, Abhijeet Bhattacharya, Jubin Nautiyal, and Lalit Pandit to name a few, will be a part of the month-long tribute building up to his birth anniversary on 27th June. The singing sensations will get together to pay their respect to the music maestro by performing unplugged versions of some of his best songs on Big FMs shows specially integrated with the Yaadon Mein Pancham theme. The special day will be devoted to the legend, by urging his fans to send in requests to play his souful music and share their favorite Pancham Da stories, thereby making it a memorable experience for the listeners as well.
