MUMBAI: 2016 is definitely a year of change for FM radio stations. After Radio City and Radio Mirchi, it is now the turn of Red FM to revamp its signature tune.
The new jingle will go on air from 1 September 2016 and if our sources are to be believed it has a retro touch to it. The tune has been created by DJ Nucleya who recently launched his album 'Raja Baja'.
Confirming the same Red FM COO Nisha Narayanan said, "As a youth brand, Red FM finds it its responsibility to constantly offer new, fresh and experimental content to the millions who tune into us each day. And it’s not every other day that an Indie musician turns into a phenomenon, delivering a style which you can only call his. For this reason, the choice of the composer was not a debate, it was obvious. Red FM and Nucleya have not collaborated to create a new jingle, the artist, and the brand have come together to musically deliver, every value that Red FM stands for."
The COO added that the tune is young, vibrant, catchy with an international appeal, but at the same time, it has a very strong Indian influence. Much like the average youngster walking down the street, flaunting everything that is globally trending, but strongly rooted and proud of their inherent Indianness.
Red FM's current signature tune was also composed by a young set of Bollywood musicians. The fickle youth listenership of the country however has coaxed the station to get in the brand new jingle, 'a new age sound, which is ahead of its contemporaries', as she puts it.
Talking in depth about the tune, Narayanan added, "Red FM’s signature tune is a celebration of life, it is the thunderous applause that Deepa Karmakar receives, for making India shine at the Olympics. It is your life’s background score, constantly asking you to tap your feet and keep at it, irrespective of what life throws at you. A composition that serves as a reminder to speak your mind and follow your heart, that shouts out the 'Bajaate Raho' message."
On launching their signature tune in September just in time for Ganesh Utsav, Narayanan said, "At the onset of the great Indian festive season, we find it an opportune moment to launch the signature tune, because of its celebratory and vibrant appeal. We hope that our listeners enjoy this composition, as much as we enjoyed making it."
Red FM also happens to be event partner of Nucleya's 'Raja Baja' album launch events.
