MUMBAI: Radio City is celebrating India’s most awaited, traditional festival of song and dance, Navratri with special events organized across the country
Gujarat is all geared up to enjoy the festive mood with the most popular Garba Premier League 2016. As a part of Radio City’s Garba Premier League, ‘Garba’ competitions are being organized from 1 – 10 October amongst various housing societies in Ahmedabad, Baroda and Surat. Radio City will be visiting 50 societies per city for the league, where five winners will be shortlisted from each city. The competition will end with a grand finale on 11October 2016 where the winners will be felicitated with mega prizes.
In Bangalore, Radio City Studio Ratha is celebrating Navratri in full zeal with all the Bangaloreans and their beloved celebrities. In this unique on-ground event a stunning canter ornamented like a real life ‘Ratha’, which will act as a mobile studio, will visit a different location every morning with RJ’s going live from there. This will give Radio City listeners a chance to meet their favourite RJ and a chance to go live. Celebrities like Duniya Vijay and Priyamani will also join these celebrations at Studio Ratha. This activity is being held from 3 October till 8 October 2016.
Radio Mantra’s popular ‘Dandiya Raas’ is all set to rock the celebrations in Agra, Bareilly, Gorakhpur and Varanasi. Agra will twirl to the tunes of Dandiya Raas this year on 5 October followed by Varanasi on 7 October. Dandiya Raas will spread its fun and enthusiasm in Gorakhpur and Karnal on 8 and 10 October respectively.
To add zest to the auspicious festival of Navratri, Planetradiocity.com has launched their first web radio station in Gujarati, Radio City Gujarati, which will play Gujarati music across all genres including devotional, folk, garba, and film music.
