MUMBAI: November is going to be rich pickings for those craving for gigs and more gigs. The good news is, solo act Fuzzy Logic is kick-starting his 2016 multi city India tour with a brand new live act. Other acts lined up on the same day - 4 November 2016 - are amazing fresh acts by Else if and Worms' Cottage, all at antiSOCIAL.
If you are in Mumbai, you can’t afford to miss Arfaaz's (Fuzzy Logic) effortless blend of house, techno and bass music, toned down with lush vocals and cinematic textures. Delhi based live act Else If and Bengaluru-based Worms’ Cottage are debuting in Mumbai with this show.
While talking about his upcoming gig, Arfaaz Kagalwala, (Sole member of Fuzzy Logic) who is travelling from France today shared, “I will be coming to India for a month-long tour of gigs across major cities. This will be to preview my new EP, ‘Mrs You’, as well as to promote my crowd funded stop-motion music video for ‘Pretty Child’, which will be showcased at TEDx Delhi on 27 November and releasing online on 1 December 2016.”
Worms’ Cottage a.k.a. Rishabh said, “Yeah it’s my first show in Mumbai. I'll be playing mostly new tracks, some from the Standing Feathers album, and some from an upcoming EP. I’ve also made some tracks that fit nowhere and I want to try them out live. Hopefully, it’ll turn out good.”
For the uninitiated, Rishabh started this project as he thought it would be a side project, in Pune, where he stayed for a year. After a while, he moved to Bengaluru to join art institute Srishti.
“I was really influenced by Machli (who were my seniors in Srishti) to change my sound. Eventually, it ended up becoming my only project, as of now. Then Consolidate (Bengaluru-based record label) came into being, so I was lucky to be a part of that,” added he.
The 13 track LP called ‘Tour Guide Imposter’ was the first LP released by him in March 2015 and then, launched at The Humming Tree, Bengaluru with the help of Rahul Giri (Sulk Station and _RHL). Worm's Cottage’s recent album ‘Standing Feathers’ was released on 1 September 2016 by Consolidate.
Delhi-based band Else If which comprises G. Arjun and Puneesh Suri considers itself a ‘genre-free’ act and the two musicians are inspired by surrounding sounds, live instruments and technology. They fuse various elements and styles in their music which comprise odd time signatures, rhythms, layered natural and twisted soundscapes over grooves.
Presented by Mixtape and in association with UnMute, Gently Altered and Consolidate, Fuzzy Logic, Worms' Cottage, and Else If will perform on 4 November 2016 at antiSOCIAL, Khar Mumbai.
