MUMBAI: The Riders Music Festival, one of Red FM’s biggest IP, took a setback due to governments demonetisation move, back in December. But, February 2017 will hear the sounds of the mean machines, rock music, and soul-soothing sufi, with the return of The Riders Music Festival.
The first edition of this festival conceptualized by Red FM and Phoenix Live was initially to take place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Grounds between 3 and 4 December 2016, but it hit the demonetisation roadblock.
Back then, Red FM COO Nisha Narayanan had said, “We at Red FM were extremely thrilled to announce the first edition of our new IP ‘Riders Music Festival’ and were looking forward to its commencement. However, looking at the current scenario we felt postponing it will be a wise decision and very fair from both listeners and business standpoint. Due to demonetisation, businesses across sectors have been impacted. The more organised retail sector which holds a big chunk of radio advertising has also been hit by demonetisation with people spending only on necessities.”
She added, “Needless to say, this will have no impact on our enthusiasm to launch this festival; we continue to be excited and will deliver a platform to listeners with high entertainment decibel.”
Indeed the excitement did not diminish even by an inch as Red FM has announced the festival dates with an interesting artist line-up. The Riders Music Festival will now take place at the same venue on 18 and 19 February 2017. The artists to be performing at the festival are, Amit Trivedi, Lucky Ali, Kenny Sebastian, Kanan Gill, Hari & Sukhmani, Kutle Khan, Monophonik, The Circus, The Local Train, The Copycats, Voctronica and many more.
A total of 16 artists will perform on two stages. The festival will be divided into grub arena, flea market, adventure zone and bike showcase.
The tickets are available on Book My Show, Insider In and Paytm.
