Indian RJs and radio producers: International Radio Festival 2012, Zurich beckons
MUMBAI: Radio jocks and music show producers are in for a surprise, courtesy Indiantelevision.com's Radioandmusic.com and The International Radio Festival (IRF), Zurich. The two are partnering each other to showcase the best of Indian radio jockeying and music show programing to international audiences in Zurich in September at the IRF 2012.
Radioandmusic.com will call for entries from the radio stations across the country to participate with their best radio jocks and programmes. The radio stations will have to upload their entries on mixcloud.com. An esteemed jury panel will shortlist the top six shows from the entries submitted and the IRF organisers will then announce the final winner.
As part of the partnership between Radioandmusic.com and the IRF, the winning show’s producer and radio jock will be invited and flown to Zurich to showcase their music radio show ‘live on air’ at the fest which takes place from 12 -15 September 2012, in the magnificent castle Schloss Sihlberg in Zurich.
Despite strict government regulations, Indian FM Radio stations have done a fabulous service for Indian listeners by creating programming which delivers music in an interesting and entertaining format. Hundreds of radio jocks and radio show producers nationally work relentlessly day in day out to keep ahead of listeners’ needs.
Indiantelevision.com and Radioandmusic.com founder, CEO and editor in chief Anil Wanvari says, “Our partnership with the IRF is an indication of our deep commitment to the Radio industry in India. We believe the IRF provides a fantastic opportunity for radio producers and RJs to interact with their tribe from all over the world and hence expand their creativity in terms of emerging programming formats.”
IRF founder and co-president Darryl von Daniken says, “The IRF is delighted to have teamed up with a professional authority such as Radioandmusic.com who will help the festival seek out the best Indian Music Radio Show. Radio is central to the music industry and the world’s single largest “distributor” of music, and the IRF, together with Radioandmusic.com, looks forward to including Indian radio programming in its international Festival line-up.”
The International Radio Festival (IRF) was founded in 2010 to celebrate and showcase the world’s most consumed and most influential medium, Music Radio. The IRF represents the world’s first business to business and public festival event format of its kind, offering a platform for those with a vested interest in the world’s most consumed medium – music radio. Since its inaugural year, the IRF has brought together over 100 ground-breaking music radio shows from around the world, offering their makers the exceptional opportunity to meet, network and showcase their best music radio programmes to their peers, on-air around the world, and to a live studio audience.
