As the anticipation of her forthcoming international debut album is elevating with every passing day, bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra has finally decided to put an end to the suspense by unveiling her first single ‘In My City’, giving her fans a quick gist of what to expect throughout the OST. Whether the brown-eyed lass has succeeded in fulfilling the expectation of her listener was to be seen.

Raised eyebrow and amazed expression was the first reaction, the moment her track hit the player, the amazement was immediately followed by a stream of questions. Starting with the obvious one - Is this Priyanka’s voice? Has her voice been auto-tuned? Did she take voice modulation training or is she having a fake accent?

But with all said and done, the song on whole is quite up-beat and definitely caters to the dance-music market. It appears like PC has been working hard to pin each and every musical note through her musical training with a team of vocal experts. Her hard work has definitely been paid off giving a side to her few glitches, considering her debut single. Chopra’s vocal finesse instantly uplifts the single which starts up with perky tune and short introductory titles.

Seemingly, the actor turned singer has decided to go with the flow of now-in-trend EDM music and when it comes to dance track, who is better than Will.i.am? The Black Eyed Peas singer’s rap portion emphasizes the uber-cool quotient in the whole club dance track. Considering the single has been catered solely to the international market and for dance music fandom, frail lyrics with heavy infusion of electronic tuned music and high pitched club beats is completely explainable. But what remains a question is the reason for Priyanka to bare the fake accent; personally I feel it is because she is targeting and trying to connect with the international audience.   

Produced by Red One, the single doesn’t offer any innovation in terms of music but has succeeded in making up to the charts. The video of the single is upto the mark and has covered all the aspect of the track lending the right amount of oomph. Now, one has to see how the single does on internationally charts and whether it entices the global audience. While the question of her voice being auto-tuned or not! can only be answered when audience listen to her in live concert.  The expectation from the album has definitely increased along with a hope to witness some innovative music infusing some Indian beats and showcasing Priyanka’s true identity.
