Javed Ali to host SaReGaMaPa 2012

MUMBAI: After renowned hosts like Sonu Nigam, Shaan and Aditya Narayan, singing reality show SaReGaMaPa has now roped in talented singer Javed Ali to host the latest season.
The audition rounds are currently being hosted by popular TV anchor Jay Bhanushali. Making his debut as an anchor, Ali opined that he will just stick to music and promote a natural atmosphere on the sets.
Ali said, “I have never done anchoring before but I liked the offer by Zee and thought of giving it a try as I wanted to try something new and accepted it as a challenge. My aim is to be as simple and natural as possible and not remark things as over the top. I will only talk about music so I guess people should not keep too many expectations from me.”
The singer judged SaReGaMaPa Li'l Champs in 2011. Considering the jump as a host, Ali is sure to not let singing take a backseat in his career though he may consider anchoring for other music reality shows as well. Ali is on cloud nine for his rendition in Yash Chopra’s upcoming film ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’.
“My first priority is singing then comes anything else. Even if I get other offers for anchoring, I will first see the audience response from this show and then consider the rest. With this offer my singing career has not taken a backseat as I have devoted just one day of the week for the shoot while the rest are scheduled for recordings. I am also very happy as my song in ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ has also been garnering a good response,” he stated.
While Ali earlier rejected the offer to host the cross border singing reality show 'Sur-Kshetra' owing to busy recording schedules, he is glad to have got another opportunity to host the longest running popular singing reality show in the business. Ali affirmed, “I was going to anchor 'Sur-Kshetra' but because of their Dubai schedule I could not accept the offer as I had many recordings scheduled then. But I am happy that I got the chance to host a show as big as SaReGaMaPa since I am a big fan of the show.”
The auditions are over and the show will commence from Saturday 20 October at 9 pm.
