Monty Sharma brings Kashmiri Pandits-Muslims together with Azaan-Gayatri Mantra combination in Sapna Films'

MUMBAI: He is best known for his immortal compositions in Devdas and Black, and for the arrangement in Devdas, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam among others. Composer Monty Sharma turned director with the youth flick Sapna Films’ LHS, produced by Hariom Sharma, corproduced by Sangeeta Jayawant and presented by Faiz Khan. Naturally the muhurat was a recording. This time around, Monty Sharma spread the message of love, peace and harmony by getting a Kashmiri Pandit and a Muslim sufi singer to come together in a single number with Azaan and Gayatri mantra.

This coming together at a time when the Kashmiri unrest is on again made an impact with the media thronging in huge numbers to witness this historic moment.

Krishna Audio resonated with sound of music as Mudasir Ali and Neerja Pandit’s voices took centrestage to the baton of Monty Sharma. “LHS that is Love Hua Shayad is a youth flick and is about the dilemma of today’s youth between love and attraction. The film explores the mindset of these youngsters,” elaborated Monty Sharma. ”The combination of Azaan and Gayatri mantra stemmed from the fact that when you fall in love, Azaan and GAyatri mantra feel the same. Love is God, love is symphony then.”

Neerja Pandit and Mudasir Ali were more than happy to come together with the Azaan and Gayatri mantra combination. “We always want peace in Kashmir. And this moment of us singing together is a step in the right direction,” they echoed. This moment also signified the coming together of the two singers after a decade. “I was a little boy when I performed with Neerja ji in Kashmir,” said Mudasir emotionally. “I am so happy to sing with he again.” Hopefully, the muhurat of KHS will signify a muhurat of peace and harmony in Kashmir as well.
