Radio One gets Bangalore to vote

MUMBAI: In its zest to spread awareness on the importance of voting, Radio One has introduced an ‘Elections Special’ on today’s episode of ‘Play Your Music Day’ in Bangalore.

The special episode spread across various shows during the day will feature four members of the Bangalore Political Action Committee: Kiran Mazumdar, Jairaj, Vani Ganapathy and Mohandas Pai along with the first time voters on the Election Special ‘ Play Your Music Day’. The guests will talk on ‘Candidate Reports,’ ‘The importance of voting,’ ‘The need to choose the right candidates’ and discuss their choice of songs.

94.3 Radio One Bangalore station head and national marketing head Shyju Varkey said, “The idea is to leverage the power of the medium to highlight the need for citizens to participate actively in the electoral process. This special episode is dedicated to all those who want to make a difference. We are extremely pleased that our city’s main catalysts of change have agreed to be part of this special episode and will share their messages and experiences on air with our listeners. They will also entertain Bangalore with their favourite numbers during their respective shows. ”

Moreover, Mazumdar will talk on MJ Prithvi’s show, Jairaj will address the listeners on MJ Shilpa’s show, Ganapathy on MJ Pijosh’s show and Mohandas Pai will be speaking at MJ Pavitra’s show.  Some of the interviews will be played as capsules that will run through the week till the Election Day, Sunday, 5 May.
