NEW DELHI: Building on its commitment to the cause of tiger conservation in India, Aircel, along with its partner Sanctuary Asia, celebrated ‘World Tiger Day’ with school students in Delhi.  Movie screenings and talks by tiger experts on tiger conservation and environment were held at Modern School, Barakhamba Road. A part of its ‘Save our Tigers’ initiative, the event witnessed active participation of students from 21 schools with renowned environmentalists.

Aircel also launched its new digital campaign ‘The Mouse that saved the Tiger’ at the event as an extension of its ‘Save Our Tigers’ campaign. The digital campaign is aimed at spreading awareness on tiger conservation, habitat destruction as a real threat and building a sustainable environment.

Speaking at the occasion, Brinda Malhotra, Head- Corporate Social Responsibility, Aircel, said, “Aircel has been working diligently towards tiger conservation since 2008. Tigers today, are among the ten most endangered species in the world and a national treasure. Aircel initiated the ‘Save our Tigers’ campaign, which has been very successful in spreading awareness on tiger conservation in the country. Taking this commitment forward, we are delighted celebrate ‘World Tiger Day’ to raise awareness on tiger conservation. The great response that we received today and the exuberant participation from school students is testimonial to the fact that today’s youth feels strongly about the cause of tiger conservation. Aircel will continue taking big strides towards this cause and we will plan more initiatives in the future as part of our ‘Save Our Tigers’ campaign.”

Aircel has strongly supported the cause of tiger conservation since 2008 through its campaign ‘Save our Tigers’, which has been hugely successful in raising awareness about the tiger and has garnered immense support for the cause. Aircel has associated with various tiger conservationists like Mike Pandey, Bittu Sahgal, Shekar Dattatri, Valmik Thapar and others across the country to spread the message of ‘Save our Tigers’.
