Menwhopause confirm their American tour

MUMBAI: In February 2008, Menwhopause was awarded the Jack Daniel's Legendary Mash Best Rock Band Award for 2007-2008. There's more good news for the band following the honour in that they will feature at the legendary mash festival at Lynchburg, Tennessee in April. As a lead-up to the mash festival at Lynchburg; Menwhopause have also confirmed their American tour. Menwhopause's tour actually started with an official showcase last March at South by South West [SXSW] in Austin, Texas. They were the first Indian rock band till date to give a performance there. However, this time the band hasn't just confined their tour to Austin alone, but will be doing a seven-city regional Texas tour. Due to delays in getting immigration paperwork done, the band called off some of the billed shows in New York.
The tour starts from Houston on 1 March and will move on to San Antonio, San Marcos, Austin, Denton, Fort Worth and finally Dallas.

The tour, promoted by Dart Music International, was to showcase three international bands - Menwhopause; 127, the underground rockers from Iran; and Stuka, garage rockers from the main industrial center of Pancevo in Serbia. However, Stuka pulled out because of visa issues. Instead, now they have Hypernova, yet another pioneer of the underground counter-culture movement in Iran, who've come forward to fill the vacant slot.

Menwhopause also confirmed the participation of two more international acts at their gig at Friends in Austin on 11 March by Lily Electric from Denmark and the Victorian English Gentleman's Club from the United Kingdom. A couple of other international bands are also being lined up for the tour but a lot depends on their schedule and visa status.
