Viewers ask for Rehan on LiL Champs

All glued on to the Zee TV musical talent hunt LiL Champs series will remember the talented handicapped kid from Lucknow. The kid Rehan had wowed music director Anand Sharma when he sang among the hundreds of hopeful kids who thronged the grounds in Lucknow for an audition to be selected for the series.

Rehans joy at being chosen was aired and on being asked how he felt, he said, It feels nice to be appreciated and I see hope for my life now. But, he was not allowed to appear for the final selection due to the age factor. Kids aged 7 to 14 are eligible to take part in this new initiative from Zee TV.

Rehans age was 15 plus and so ineligible to be part of the series. A very good singer, I will make sure that he is part of the next Challenge series, says director Gajendrra Siingh.

Siingh added that the Zee TV response department had received numerous enquiries from viewers all across India as to why Rehan was not visible on the show. This prompted the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa team to get him on the show. Known to steer clear of controversies, Siingh said, I did not want any false rumours of unfair auditions to upset the good momentum we are receiving on this show as far as viewership is concerned.

Shaan introduces Rehan on this Thursday episode and clarifies that his non inclusion was purely because he did not meet the age limit criteria set for the series. Rehan sings Dekha hai teri aankhon mein and gets ample praise from the three judges, Bappi Lahiri, Alka Yagnik and Abhijeet.
