MUMBAI: She created ripples with the remix version of Yeh Ishq Hai and with Bheegi Si Bhaagi Si from Raajneeti, strummed the hearts of millions with her voice. Talking about her life after Indian Idol 2 to Radioandmusic.com, she says," I am extremely thankful to god since I got good people to work with. I had just completed 18 years and Indian Idol happened to me."

Though the singer also admits that living alone in the city like Mumbai is lonesome but its all thanks to her mother who backed her through all the thick and thins of her life." There have been times when I have cried over phone when things didn’t work out," exclaims she. Despite this she is extremely happy being single and is not in search of love since she wishes to focus on her career.

Mitra has also worked for one of the daily soaps and is open to acting if the script is good enough. When asked about her hobbies pat was her reply," I love reading books based on romance. if you see my house, it is full of books. I also like reading fiction."
