Indie artists speak about Artist Aloud's music series

MUMBAI : Artist Aloud Unplugged , a music series featuring original content by independent artistes has been launched recently. The Indie artists participating in the music episodes give a gist about the show.

"I started my journey as a street performer where survival was my only necessity. At a time when the internet penetration was low, launching a music career meant wearing many hats and wrangling a ton of logistics. Times have changed and so have the people," singer-songwriter Pratyul Joshi said in a statement.

"With the advent of the digital era, independent music has seen a tremendous rise and gained appreciation from audiences. That is the exact reason why 'Artist Aloud Unplugged' is so captivating. It has opened the doors for artistes from all walks of life and given them a platform to express themselves and explore their imagination without any intervention."

Each episode of the series will feature a different artiste.

Singer-composer-songwriter Siya Arora said, "I truly believe that music can change perceptions and help in promoting peace across the world. I believe music heals and artistes require more such platforms that motivate and encourage them to produce original content that strikes a chord and makes the audience enjoy the music.

"I am really glad that I got the opportunity to perform in the first season of Artist Aloud Unplugged."

Mumbai-based folk rock band Pravaah are constantly trying to inculcate reality in their songs to make an impact on people's lives and raise awareness against social facades.

"We found the series to be on the similar page. In a world where music has become commercialised, Artist Aloud Unplugged aims to give talented independent artistes a platform which becomes a direct bridge between their craft and the audience."

Artist Aloud is a platform by Hungama that supports and promotes independent music. The series started streaming on Artist Aloud app, Artistaloud.com, and its social media properties starting on Wednesday.
