Gaurav Dayal defines 'Gravity'

MUMBAI: If you are a movie fan and have already watched the Hollywood flick Gravity then you will notice that it has an Indian element in the music of the film. The man behind the music was Gaurav Dayal who has composed Desi Rap music titled '922 Anthem' for the film.

Speaking to Radioandmusic.com from United States over phone, Dayal says, “I have an agent in Los Angeles who was informed that the makers of Gravity are looking for a song with Indian touch. Forwarding my profile to the makers which consisted the list of my works of other composers my track was selected. Then, I was in India composing music.

He further adds, “I always wished to work in Hollywood and compose some Pop numbers and I am happy that I got that opportunity now.” Even has he is determined to chase his Hollywood dreams; he wants to balance them with his Indian projects.

In the past, he has also worked with Wyclef, Jerry Wonda and Shakira as a music producer. Dubstep Producer Skrillex had sampled Dayal’s music for his hit ‘Scary Bolly Dub’ recently. Selena Gomez's Come & Get It features his loops and samples. “Hollywood is looking at India for music composer which is really encouraging. Earlier, Indian were present in various field but in music they never were able to great a mark. They realized that we can give unique and fresh music with ethnic sound,” says Dayal.

Speaking about his future plans in Hollywood, he affirms that there is a one project that he is looking forward too but he wishes to remain tight-lipped about it.
