Cricketer LaxmiRatan bowls over listeners of BIG 92.7 FM, Kolkata with breakfast jock, RJ Koushik

Kolkata: In keeping with the IPL fever, BIG 92.7 FM Kolkata, played host to acclaimed cricketer Laxmi Ratan Shukla who visited the studio on the breakfast show - BIG Chumuk hosted by the Kolkata's favourite jock - RJ Koushik. Kolkata is at present reeling under the IPL cricket mania and BIG 92.7 FM added to the fun and euphoria very innovatively by hosting Lakshmi for some great interaction with the listeners. The 3 hour show was well received by listeners who kept the phone lines ringing while fans thronged the studios to get a glimpse of the cricketer.

Shukla is a right-arm medium pacer and right-handed batsman and his recent achievements as a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders has been phenomenal. In the last match, he had wrapped up the opponent's innings in a single over by picking up 3 wickets and also he was the only bowler who was staring at a hattrick after Shoaib Akhtar. Infact his consistent batting performance has given the team a crucial pedestal. The phone lines never stopped ringing once he was on-air and amidst the interesting quips by RJ Koushik, he recounted his debut in the 20-20 matches, his first ODI match against Sri Lanka and his new found status as the youth heartthrob.BIG 92.7 FM has in the past also hosted several celebrity cricketers like Deep Dasgupta, Ranadeb Bose and other Tollywood actors who have been part of BIG Chumuk, interacting with listeners and express their views on the ongoing IPL fever that Kolkata is infected with.
