Techzone witnessed 30-40 per cent rise in app creation

MUMBAI: Mobile VAS (Value added services) company Techzone is planning to take a major set-up into the app world. Techzone the aggregator, developer, publisher and distributor of entertainment content, has decided to venture into marketing after developing two-three utility apps.

“We are now focusing on app and have launched 40-45 apps recently. Out of which 20-25 are news based apps and rest are content-based. With regards to the same Techzone has witnessed growth of around 30-40 per cent which encouraged us to develop, design and market our own product. Thus we developed two-three utility apps which are under the testing phase right now. We plan to launch them within a couple of months,” said Techzone MD Naveen Bhandari.

He further revealed that the utility apps ars part of the long-term plan of the company. “We are the creators but soon we will get into marketing of our own product,” said Bhandari. The company has built its marketing team over couple of months.

About two-month back, Techzone had created apps for Color’s Comedy Nights with Kapil which witnessed about five lakh downloads. Meanwhile, Sony Music India multiple utility app is designed in a way to enjoy features like listening to songs by streaming and downloading; and also allowing app-users to use the track as the Caller Ring Back Tones. “Right now, Sony Music app is tested as there are some minor improvements that need to be done but the point here is that it has witnessed about four lakh download in four to five months. But in the content based app that has surprised us is Comedy Nights with Kapil. However, these apps are not promoted by the company yet it has witnessed such positive numbers.” Addition to this list is Chennai-based Super Audio that has apps like Sri Venkateswara Suprabhatam and Kamasutra Music Lite that has also attracted huge traffic from India and around the world. “In a clustered market having such numbers can be attributed to the content, design and the quality of the app,” concluded Bhandari.
