Worldwide Music releases Majumdar's album

MUMBAI: Eminent flautist Pandit Ronu Majumdar's album 'Bansuri' was launched at south Mumbai's Planet M on Monday.

Released by Worldwide Music, the album was launched by well known music director Vishal Bharadwaj .

Pt Majumdar, along with two of his musicians, enchanted those present at the launch by playing a few selected picks from his album.

Pt Majumdar, one of the renowned Indian flautists, has been nominated for the Grammy awards. His improvisation and fusion style has helped him gain his valuable identity. He has played with legends like George Harrison, a Beatles member and Larry Coryell, a Jazz fusion guitarist. Pt Majumdar says, "I decided to play music of the land, so that people can enjoy and dance. The album reminds the beautiful essence of Bansuri. I have put out my soul in each and every composition and people have no option but to like the magic of Bansuri."
