Radio Mirchi promotes CFL to conserve energy

MUMBAI: Radio Mirchi, in association with Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Ltd (KREDL), has undertaken an initiative to light up homes with compact fluorescent lamps (CFL), in Bangalore.

With this initiative, Mirchi plans to create awareness among people to use CFLs that conserve energy as opposed to incandescent bulbs.

Radio Mirchi cluster head Karnataka and Kerala Rahul Balyan said,"We have always been in the forefront when it comes to such impact creating eco-friendly measures under Mirchi Cares. We are very happy to be associated with KREDL for driving the initiative to save power by the use of CFLs."

As part of a strategic campaign against conventional bulbs, Radio Mirchi RJs replaced bulbs in their homes with CFLs. This was followed by on-air contests on power tips for listeners, where winners got CFL hampers consisting four CFL bulbs for their homes.
