Snapchat and JioSaavn partner to enable connection, discovery and seamless sharing of Indian music

MUMBAI: Snap Inc. (NYSE: SNAP), parent company of Snapchat and JioSaavn, are today announcing a partnership aimed at connecting with millions of South Asian mobile users worldwide. The integration will allow JioSaavn users to share what they are listening to from the JioSaavn app to Snapchat. The partnership also includes creative tools in the form of lenses and filters, as well as content with publisher stories.

JioSaavn is using Snap’s Creative Kit, launched in June 2018 as part of Snap Kit, which allows developers to design and build custom-branded stickers, filters, links, and more. These can be shared from the JioSaavn app right into the Snap Camera, where they become a part of Snapchatters’ conversations with their friends. Creative Kit integrations offer partners both free distribution within Snapchat and attribution back to their app or site. More than 200 apps have integrated with Snap Kit to date.

JioSaavn users can now share their favorite songs with family and friends on Snapchat with the tap of a button. Snapchat and JioSaavn will also continue to work together and create new lenses around exclusive music and artists every month allowing Indian mobile users to engage with and share their music creatively.

So far, JioSaavn-powered artist lenses have included Jasmin Walia and Zack Knight for their major hit Bom Diggy and The PropheC’s Vibe. Today, Snapchatters in India will be able to play with a new lens for Faking It (Kimera Remix)’ by Lost Stories and Matthew Steeper.

Finally, as a content partner with Snapchat, JioSaavn will produce Publisher Stories so that users can experience a front-row seat to their favorite JioSaavn artists and events on the discover page - Snapchat’s content platform to the right of the camera.

The content also will include exclusive snaps from concerts, tours and behind-the-scenes experiences with global artists and talent.
