There is no job pressure or anxiety issues, which is the best thing about being a RJ: RJ Abhilash

MUMBAI: Best known for Kaan Phaad with Abhilash, this celebrity RJ comes with more than 12 years of experience. Abhilash is also the first RJ to do live video prank calls on Facebook.

 Well to know this online sensation, actor, radio personality, and a mad host, we spoke to RJ Abhilash who gave some interesting inputs about his journey, the thoughts he carries about the industry and more.

During the chat, he informed that it was his friend who first encouraged him to become a RJ. “He told me I had a good voice and I should give a try in the radio industry,” revealed RJ Abhilash.

“There is no job pressure or anxiety issues, which is the best thing about being a RJ,” he added.

Along the way Abhilash had his own favorites, “I used to listen to RJ Anand and Khurfati Nitin.”

Abhilash made his Bollywood debut with Dil Junglee (2018) that starred Tapsee Panu and Saqib Saleem. His 12-year journey in the radio industry involves stints with Radio Tarang (Hisar), Radio City, Radio One, Fever 104 FM (Delhi), and Red FM (Mumbai), which  earned him felicitations by the Election Commission of India, the United Nations, and Pakistan Embassy making him a serious; influencer; on air. 

His BIG FM show called Mumbai Ka Sabse Bada Struggler is ranked as the number one drive time show in Mumbai.

 Being a celebrity RJ, in these 12 years, RJ Abhilash had some of his best on air moments. He shared some, “I was talking acid attack survivor whose name is Laxmi Agarwal. After listening to her story, I started crying on air. This was a heart-touching moment for me.”

There are certain myths that people have about RJs, Abhilash clears some of them. “People think we talk a lot and this is required to become a RJ. But, this is not true. In an hour, we only talk for only seven to eight minutes maximum, rest are all ads and song," concluded Abhilash.
